Following an initial telephone consultation, we can arrange to meet either online or in person for our first therapy session.
Blueprint for our first session:
- I will introduce myself and answer any initial questions you may have.
- I will invite you to tell me more about why you have chosen to come to therapy.
- Then I will make a note of your details and medical history.
- Finally, if you are happy to continue, we will discuss ongoing therapy.
- There is no obligation to continue with me.
- This and all sessions last for 50 minutes.
Talking therapy is not an alternative to emergency medical care for those in crisis. I would always refer you to your doctor or local mental health services.
Quality of my practice.
At each step of the way in therapy, I will be making sure that you are receiving the best care and attention possible. I have signed up to the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, of which I am a registered member.
In order to ensure that quality care, I have monthly clinical supervision where my work is discussed in depth. Your details are strictly confidential and are not routinely shared with anyone.
I securely keep records for 5 years in line with my the requirements of my insurance and professional body. I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
