Therapy is not a substitute for immediate mental health care in an emergency.
If you are in crisis at this moment and you feel that your life is at risk due to suicidal thoughts or serious self harm then you should:
- Call your GP
- Attend A&E
- Call your local crisis team. Dial 111 and choose the mental health option to be put in touch with someone who will help you.
There are times when your GP will be closed. This can often be at the hardest times of year, for instance Birthdays and Christmas.
If you feel that you are unable to call for help, ask someone to help you make that call.
You are not wasting anyones time.
The following contacts can assist you in specific circumstances. It is not a comprehensive list and I will be updating it from time to time.
