Confidential Counselling in Colchester
If you are looking for a qualified counsellor in Colchester, I offer a calm, confidential setting where you can speak openly about what is troubling you. You may be dealing with anxiety, trauma, low mood, relationship difficulties or a persistent sense of feeling stuck.
Sessions are available for adults at The Turner Centre in central Colchester, with online counselling also available when that is more convenient.

A space to understand what is happening
People often begin counselling because familiar ways of coping no longer seem to work. Difficult feelings may appear without an obvious cause, or the same patterns may keep returning at work, at home or in relationships. Psychodynamic counselling gives us time to think about these experiences together, including how earlier relationships and experiences may be affecting life now.
The aim is not to offer quick instructions or judge your choices. It is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise patterns and find more lasting ways to respond.
Issues I can help you explore
- Anxiety, stress and feeling overwhelmed
- Trauma and difficult past experiences
- Depression, low mood or loss of motivation
- Relationship and attachment difficulties
- Anger, shame, identity and low self-esteem
- Experiences connected with military or emergency-services life
I work with adults aged 18 and over. Specialist support is available for serving military personnel, veterans and members of the police, fire, ambulance and NHS services.
What to expect from sessions
Counselling sessions take place weekly and last for 50 minutes. We can discuss whether shorter-term or open-ended work is more suitable for what you want to explore. Everything we discuss is treated confidentially within the professional and ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I hold an MA in Psychodynamic Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP. Sessions are charged at £60 for 50 minutes.
